Archimandrite Tikhon (Shevkunov) and Igumen Paramon (Golubka) elected vicar bishops of the Diocese of Moscow

Moscow, October 22, 2015

On October 22, 2015, at the meeting of the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church a message of Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia was read in which he stressed the need to have two more vicar bishops (minutes no. 63), reports Patriarchia.ru.

    

The Holy Synod resolved to elevate Archimandrite Tikhon (Shevkunov), Abbot of the Moscow Stavropegic Sretensky Monastery, to the episcopate with the title of Bishop of Yegoryevsk, Vicar Bishop of the Moscow Diocese.

Igumen Paramon (Golubka), Abbot of the Moscow Stavropegic Donskoy Monastery, was elected Bishop of Bronnitsa, Vicar Bishop of the Diocese of Moscow.

Archimandrite Tikhon will be consecrated at a Patriarchal Liturgy in Shamordino Convent tomorrow, Saturday, October 23, when the Russian Orthodox Church celebrates the Synaxis of the Optina Elders.
