His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia stressed that the Russian Orthodox Church, and the Russian people as a whole express solidarity and offer firm support to Serbia in relation to the problems that the country is facing, Dacic said.
Extending thanks for the support that Russia has been giving to Serbia, the minister underlined that the Russian Orthodox Church sent humanitarian aid to Serbia, especially for the Serbs in Kosovo-Metohija, on several occassions.
Dacic voiced hope that the relations between the Russian and Serbian Orthodox Churches will be an impetus for even closer cooperation between the Serbian and Russian peoples.
The deputy prime minister also expressed expectation that the churches will further strengthen cooperation by launching various projects, similar to the ongoing one - the participation of the Russian Orthodox Church in the decoration of St Sava's Cathedral with mosaics.
