Jordanian cave in which the ancient texts were discovered. |
In these books, no larger in size than credit cards, there are pictures, symbols and texts which appear to refer to the Messiah, the Crucifixion, and even to the Resurrection. Even more mysterious is the fact that many of the books are sealed. Some analysts believe that those books may be the lost codices referred to in the Book of Revelations.
The seventy books were discovered five years ago in a cave in the area of Jordan to which, according to the Holy Writings, Christian refugees fled after the fall of Jerusalem. The first metal analysis showed that some of the books may date back to the first century BC. This estimation is based upon the finding that the kind of erosion suffered by the books cannot be artificially induced, but can only be a result of time.
